NACLI & Republic Polytechnic Joint Certification Programme

NACLI and Republic Polytechnic (RP) have jointly developed two certificate programmes – the Certificate in Community Development (CCD) and the Certificate in Community Leadership (CCL) for grassroots leaders which were launched on 27 October 2007.

About the programmes
In line with NACLI’s new Community LEAD framework, the two new certificate programmes offer grassroots leaders an added edge to attend training at NACLI; and the opportunity to acquire professional certification jointly awarded by an Institute of Higher Learning and NACLI.

Each certificate programme offers short courses of between half-day and three-day duration, facilitated by either NACLI or RP. Every workshop is assigned a certain number of learning units (LUs) leading to the award of the certificates.

The completion of a certificate programme requires 30 LUs; of which participants are required to complete 20 LUs of core courses and 10 LUs of elective courses, within 24 months.

Who are eligible for the programmes?
CCD is open to all serving grassroots leaders. CCL is open to grassroots office-bearers. Non office-bearers who have completed the CCD may advance to the CCL.

Is there a course fee?
All fees are borne by the People’s Association, for grassroots leaders who are active in service applying to attend either of the certificate programmes.
